Scholarships

Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet is pleased to offer a number of scholarships to qualified students. Students can only be considered for scholarship aid after an application and all required documents are submitted. Scholarship forms, which are part of the registration application, are available from the School or online. Completed forms must be returned to CPYB by the posted deadline for consideration by the Scholarship Committee. All applications and financial information are kept confidential.

NEW Two-Year Male Scholarship Program

CPYB’s Male Scholarship Program gives aspiring male dancers aged 14 to 19 the opportunity to be selected to receive a scholarship that provides two years of uninterrupted proven ballet training at CPYB. CPYB commits to providing up to eight recipients with 22 months consecutive tuition scholarships and a monthly stipend. Students must audition for these competitive scholarships that will allow them to pursue their dreams. The fund is secured through annual donor support and CPYB fundraising events.

Changing Lives Scholarship Fund

The Changing Lives Scholarship Fund is a financial need-based, work/study scholarship program that ensures broad-based accessibility to world-class ballet training regardless of financial resources. The fund is secured through annual donor support and CPYB fundraising events.

Male Scholarship Fund

This merit-based scholarship couples tuition-free assistance and housing stipend for talented young male students. The ideal candidate is a true ambassador of the School who conducts himself in a respectful and professional manner both inside and outside of CPYB studios. Students who receive a scholarship award are required to carry out age-appropriate work/study duties. Supporters of this fund assure the continued development of classical male dancing for generations to come.

Marcia Dale Weary Scholarship Fund

This scholarship, established in honor of the school's Founding Artistic Director Marcia Dale Weary, provides funds based on merit and is awarded to students who demonstrate the potential to achieve a professional career in ballet.

Maurinda C. Wingard New Hope Scholarship Fund

This merit-based scholarship, established to honor the life of long-time CPYB Executive Director and CPYB alumna Maurinda C. Wingard and helping keep her vision of CPYB moving forward, is based on a student's desire and potential for dance.  

All scholarships at CPYB are work/study scholarships.
