CPYB 2010-2011: A Season of Celebration

Pre-Professional Division

Progressive levels of ballet training focused on perfecting technique, building physical strength, and developing artistry.

Students in the Pre-Professional Division, which consists of Level 3 through Level 7,  have earned their placement in each level through hard work, determination and discipline. Those who have achieved proper technique may qualify to participate in pointe, pas de deux, variations, and men’s class, in addition to the regular technique classes. The amount of time spent in a level depends solely on the student’s individual improvement and is determined by the Artistic Director.

Guest teachers and permanent guest faculty are invited to teach the pre-professional levels on a regular basis.

It is recommended that students invest at a minimum the following amount of time into their ballet studies per week:

  • Level 3 – 16 hours
  • Level 4 – 18 hours
  • Levels 5, 6, and 7 – 22 hours
